Monster truck

PicCollage.png
Once upon a time there was a bus that got turned into a monster truck - overnight.  The kids loved it.  They took it to race around the back paddock. Every day they kept upgrading it with things like bigger wheels, raising it and removing seats to make it lighter.

The next job as to spray paint it with flames so it looked even faster. In a race some windows got smashed so the kids fixed them. They were getting good at fixing their monster bus.

In the most important race, we wun.

Monster Trucks

Monster Trucks!
Written by Isaac & Luke

This is a monster truck. When we race and crash it, it costs a lot of money.  Most of the money that we earn from races goes to fixing it. Sadly, we normally crash. Only the truck gets damaged, not us.

Once we had to take off the doors and panel beat them to smooth them out. It then needs a new paint job. After that it looks basically brand new.

We also have this Mainframe. It used to be a school bus but we transferred it into the Monster Truck.

We take a few people around the track for a fun ride sometimes. We take the racing tyres off and replace them with road tyres to take the kids to school. Their parents are happy and their work help by sponsoring us. They do our paint jobs or give us money for fuel.

All the kids love travelling on our Monster Bus Truck. That’s why we did it.

Read Captain Underpants!

Captain Underpants are really great books because the story is always funny and short. It is great for a reader who is growing their muscles.

Have a look for the 'flip-a-rama' books because they make you read until you get to the end and can flip the edge of the book to see the characters moving. It makes you read even more.

Scooters

Dear Mrs P,

I think we should be able to use scooters every break.

If we don’t play on our scooters we have to find something else to do and that might involve getting dirty. If we get dirty, we get in trouble.

We have many people who want to ride their scooters. They are Jack, Nate, Todd, Sam, Jed, Leroy, Eli, Josh, Isaac, Campbell, Blake, William and Sammy.

why we should have rugby posts at school

Why we should have rugby posts at school

I personally think we should have rugby posts because when the rugby players at school want to play rugby they can’t because of the soccer people using the rugby posts. Unfortunately, Wendy made the scooter rule at morning tea time so we can no longer scoot. But the problem is, we can’t use the rugby field either because of the soccer players. So we play soccer instead but often the seniors want to use the field and we have to stop  the soccer players from playing soccer every brack.

eels

The time has come to save the eels. What do you think? We need to take action or these endemic eels will become extinct.

Endemic means that they are native to a country eels will become extinct. The longfin eels can swim to the Tonga trench and back to New Zealand. That is pretty amazing.

One of the problems facing the Longfin eels is that they get stuck on their journey up to the lakes. Dams are good for making electricity but terrible for eels. The walls are too tall for the eels to climb over. Little elver eels can try but there are rats waiting to eat them and predators at the bottom of the dam.

We need to find a way to help the eels get past the DAM walls.

Another problem the eels face is pollution and disappearing rivers.

Farmers let the stock get into the rivers so they are getting polluted. Eels can’t breathe in water that is full of poo.
Farmers are also taking thousands of litres of water to irrigate their crops. This stops the rivers from flowing and destroys the eel habitat.

We need to look after our rivers for the longfin eels to survive, and so that we can swim in them too!

So, if you want the amazing longfin eel to survive, it is time for YOU to take action. Help us find ways to get them around the dams and keep our rivers clean and flowing!
